Bardia is for travelers who understand that the wildest sightings are earned. Far from the crowds, along the Babai and Karnali rivers, this is tiger tracking the way it should be — on foot, patient, and honest about the odds.
Itinerary
Day 1 — West to the frontier
Travel to Bardia and settle into the forest’s edge. Evening orientation walk and a naturalist’s briefing on how we’ll track over the coming days.
Day 2–4 — Tracking days
Long days built around tiger movement: dawn walks along the riverbanks reading tracks and alarm calls, dry-season sits at machaans overlooking waterholes, and jeep transects through the Babai grasslands. Wild elephant, swamp deer and a rich cast of birds fill the hours between.
Day 5 — The Karnali
A boat trip on the Karnali for the endangered Gangetic dolphin, gharial and riverine birds, with a final afternoon back on the tiger trail.
Day 6 — Departure
Morning walk, then onward travel — or continue to Shuklaphanta on our western circuit.
Good to know
- Fitness: comfortable walking on uneven riverbank terrain is needed.
- Getting there: Bardia is remote — that’s the point. We handle all logistics.
